One week to launch - will she be ready?

With just one week to launch, there's still a lot of work to do on Sea Glass - here's the latest pics

Looking towards the stern - Saloon, half dinette & galley
The leather upholstery for the saloon and front cabin is currently being manufactured at Covercraft Upholstery, Long Eaton.  The traditional miner's lamps, adapted to 12v LEDs are still to be hung but these will be put up at the last minute to avoid damage

Bi-fold doors to toilet cubicle

We had the separate toilet cubicle specially designed to house a
Separett Villa composting toilet which is larger than the usual Thetford or similar toilet frequently installed on narrowboats. A bi-fold door was the best solution for easy access and practicalities.

Drying cupboard and pigeon holes
Immediately down from the rear steps is the Utility area comprising handing drying locker, where we will dry wet coats, shoes and washing. The is heated with a coil using heat from the engine. Storage pigeon holes are adjacent which will house items including hats, gloves, the dog's essentials, kitchen rolls, etc and in the bottom two we will store logs and shoes.  A clutter-free boat is essential and this storage will ensure that

Inside bottom half of drying cupboard
The rear steps prevent the bottom quarter of the cupboard opening, so Narrowboat of Distiction have split the door so we can pop shoes down onto the metal floor for drying without having to move the steps
Sliding bathroom door to convert room from off-corridor to walk through
We didn't think it necessary to choose between off-corridor or walk through bathroom.  The sliding doors which pushes back alongside the shower cubicle, together with the corridor doors mean it can be used as either

TV cabinet and storage
Built-in unit, handmade by James Blackburn will house a Cello TV mounted on a movable arm to allow optimum viewing position

So one week to go - there's still lots more work to be done . . . . . . . . . . .
