Master Mariner on Board!
On the hottest Saturday of 2019 (The Sahara Plume - temperatures north of 30 degrees C) my brother and sister-in-law visited NB Sea Glass for the first time since launch at the end of March 2019. Paul is a Master Mariner and works as a Pilot on the River Mersey, bringing huge ships skilfully into Liverpool Docks
So a 65 ft narrowboat was not going to be a problem. Except he'd never handled one before. He was absulutely brilliant. We had a super day on the River Trent and River Soar and, apart from when the bow thrusters got full of weed, and we hit the lock side, he handled the boat with exquisite skill
He's offered to be our Pilot any time we want someone to handle the boat (subject to his shifts) - we said yes please!

Too hot to eat outside!
