First cruise on Sea Glass this year - August 2020
Lockdown due to the Coronavirus stopped all recreational boating in 2020 until 4th July. Because if you were not a liveaboard, a boat was classed as a second home, visits to which were "forbidden" until 4 July. We waited for the rush to go so the first time we took Sea Glass out was early August
Shardlow Lock on the Trent and Mersey. Four boats were ahead of us but this is a double lock so takes two boats at a time
Shardlow is an historic inland port. One of the large warehousese has been converted into a pub and restaurant called The Clock Warehouse and there are a couple of long moorings available right outside the pub if you are lucky
The huge weeping willow provides welcome shade in summer, but does leave resin on your roof
Exiting Stenson Lock on the Trent and Mersey. Relieved to find volunteer lockies on duty as it it a pig of a lock - slow to fil, heavy gates and very deep - need to be careful of the cill
Dad and doggie time at The New Inn, Shardlow. Sniffing of the packet of nuts only
Boats moored up in the marina
Sundowner drinks on the semi-cruiser stern. It was a really balmy evening
